Misc.

Quick One.

Life has been busy… and sick. So many things to do, so little body energy to handle. Sigh.

I’m working on making my own mold for the jewelry. There are some limitations but I love it. I just need to get myself away more to inhale lesser smell from the mold that makes me sick. @.@

Anyway, just a quick update. Xiao Bi has been improving bit by bit (as usual). And work wise, two of our t-shirts are flying to Hong Kong next week! I hope the new owner will love them. :)

I’ll try to post up some photos of Xiao Bi some time soon. Haven’t been snapping pretty photos of hers. She just isn’t a cooperative model. lol.

Sunday Afternoon.

So *I think* the hosting is finally stable now. Well at least it hasn’t been switching back and forth for the past 24 hours.

Despite being boring for the past few days, I tried forcing myself to work on more stuffs. One more t-shirt design is on the way and I still have plenty of final touch work to do. Not to mention those stuffs from my workplace…

I was hoping that darl could go out somewhere with me today but I guess it’s not going to happen. He has an urgent meeting to attend wor… I don’t like to talk about things happening at our workplace but personally I have been having the feeling that many things have changed since a year ago and it’s not changing towards a favourable direction – well at least not favourable to me. Appointing the wrong person at the wrong position is such a pain on the ass, not to mention not knowing precisely each and everyone’s jobscope, with all the I-am-doing-his-job-you-are-doing-my-job-he-is-doing-NOTHING scenario. And then all you get are excuses, excuses, and excuses…

At one point I was also looking at myself, that perhaps I should be changing too. Perhaps I should be less critical, less efficient, more patient, and oh, have less questions! But… OK I’m criticising again. Let’s skip this part. :)

So all in all, my Sunday has to be boring again, I guess. So off for me to work on more stuffs!

UPDATES: Remember the first officially launched recycled banner wallet/long purse? It was just sold on Etsy about 30 minutes ago! :)

One of The Best – Whatever.

I’m stuck in the office, on a Saturday afternoon. Well, I’m usually stuck in the office on Saturday afternoons. :/

Anyway. Meeting funny and demanding customers on Saturdays has been no surprise for me. Today I had a very special experience.

The place I work at is on the first floor of a huge British Colonial building. There is a restaurant downstairs. Personally I haven’t been there but I’ve heard a few customers commenting that the food is good.

A lady walked in today and was about 20 minutes late for the class that she wanted to attend, and best of all, she didn’t make any reservation. So when I was explaining to her about the situation, the door suddenly opened and a guy in the chef’s uniform said:

“Hello Miss. How can you just throw this in the middle of the road?” - I’m not very sure if these are the exact words as I wasn’t prepared for this at all, but it’s something like these.

I looked at him and I saw him holding a piece of banana skin.

“How do you feel if I just throw like this?”

And this Mr Chef just threw the banana skin in the office! Yes IN THE OFFICE, and just turned and walked away before me and the lady realised what happened – or maybe only me, since the lady was the one throwing the skin in the first place.

The lady was kinda embarrased and picked up the banana skin. This time around, she threw it in the dustbin.

After settling the work with the lady I sat down and thought I should go down and tell Mr Chef that hey, that lady is not our staff and she probably wouldn’t feel anything bad if you throw the skin in our office, you see. -.- So I went down and he was there. The others were quiet seeing me so I just went to him and said:

“Erm just now someone went up, was it you?”

He looked at me and said: “Yeah. Why?”

I said: “I just didn’t want you to think that the lady is our staff because we don’t know her.”

He started telling the story that the ‘blardy female’ just threw the skin in the middle of the road while walking in and that she is a ‘blardy’ Malaysian and there is a ‘blardy’ thing in this world called dustbin.

Some conversations came in between but with all the headaches and body aches that I was having, I seriously can’t remember clearly what I said. Nevermind, enough of the ‘blardiness’. I just repeated that I didn’t want him to think that the lady is our staff and left.

Well, as much as I hate people littering (so much so that I call them rubbish worm whenever I see one on the road), I hope he understand that he was actually throwing the banana skin in my office and that made me feel being offended, and certainly not very polite.

Do You Want the Job?

I woke up early in the morning with my creative mode turned on so I thought I would just complete some of the little business project that I’ve left out for a while. Suddenly I remembered a printing company that I contacted some time last week for a quotation for something at work. I was told that the person in charge wasn’t around, and that they will call me back soon.

It’s been almost half a week so I thought maybe I should call them back for a little reminder. So I did. A lady answered the phone.

Me: “Hello. I called some time last week to have a quotation but was told that the person in charge wasn’t around. A lady said she’ll pass the message and will get them to call me back but I haven’t received any call…”

Lady: “Oh issit? When did you call?”

Me: “I think it was Wednesday or Thursday…”

Lady: “It wasn’t me. I think they’ve probably forgot to jot down.”

Me: “OK nevermind. So who should I talk to?”

Lady: “You can talk to me.”

Me: “Oh ok. So does your company supply product xxx?”

Lady: “xxx ah… Yes.”

Me: “OK. Can you provide me with a quotation on this product, with abc material, quantity around 10,000 units…”

Lady: “I can’t quote you without the size you know.”

Me: “That’s why I was waiting for someone to call back so that I can give the info. And by the way, I’ve sent an email to your company and it bounced back several times.”

Lady: “OK…”

Me: “Anyway, the size is 123 x 123 x 123. In cm.”

Lady: “Eh I can’t quote you without knowing how many colours you need you see.”

Me: “I haven’t finished talking, miss. I need only printing with black wordings.”

Lady: “But hor, without seeing the real artwork, I can’t quote you lar…”

Me: “Miss. This is not the first time I’m doing this. I’ve been doing this for years and I have no problem to get an accurate quote with the information that I’m giving you. Do you want to listen to all the details?”

Lady: “OK…”

So I continued to give her all the info that I had in hand and she promised to call me back with a quotation. Pretty regret that I called them again when they didn’t call back. I thought everyone should be given a second chance but I guess I was wrong again. :/

Sleeping Not-So-Beauty.

Finally, all work done – at least for the moment.

Both me and DARL haven’t been sleeping more than 5 hours a day, for a continuous 4-5 days. I work from home during the day time, rushing for the project from our little business, while he had to report at work. We continued rushing for the project when he came back and had to stay up late at night. He then had to report at work again. I know that he is now extremely tired. So am I. Today I could at least start to rest and I slept for a continuous 6 hours during the day time, but he still has to report at work, and will only be coming back late at night…

I slept for another one-and-a-half hour in the afternoon. I feel like sleeping again now. @.@ I wonder if I’ll turn into a Sleeping not-so-Beauty? LOL.

New projects coming in tomorrow. So good night. :)
