Max Gourmet.

Yesterday evening I followed DARL to Queensbay Mall, thinking of having some time alone walking around – not shopping, I just wanted to walk around and have a short break. I haven’t been out of the house for so long that I think I’m gonna grow a few baskets of mushrooms if I don’t go out for a few hours. :/

Anyway, when it came to dinner time, again we had a hard time trying to figure out what to eat. At the end DARL suggested a restaurant out of the mall itself. Walking distance, just right opposite the mall.

OK at this point, I hope I am not again very outdated (I have the feeling that I am again!) with this restaurant. Pardon me but I really haven’t been out for ages. :(

Back to the topic. The restaurant’s name is Max Gourmet, which according to DARL, serves food like what we had in Kim Gary.

Aiks the photos are all kinda yellow-ish coz I was using my phone camera and the place was filled with yellow lightings. Anyway…

I ordered a Portuguese Style Chicken Chop Baked Rice with Cheese (aiks I hope I remember the name correctly!) and DARL got himself a Crispy Pork with Fried Noodle (something like that…). DALR’s food came about 5 minutes later, which is extremely fast for me!

I forgot to take a photo of it. :P At this point, I was already very happy sharing the fried noodle with DARL. It was SO YUMMY! Both the pork and noodle were crispy!

Oh and we shared a glass of Iced White Coffee. Yeah the taste was good and the portion was generous. Priced at only RM2.50 (if I am not mistaken), and according to DARL, it tasted better than what we had in the Old Town Cafe. :P

For some reasons, it took quite long for my order to arrive. We almost finished the plate of fried noodle and I was still waiting…

So I snapped a photo of the partially-opened kitchen. Almost full house at the restaurant when we went. Until finally my order arrived…

Tha-da! :D The taste was OK. Well it was quite nice actually, just that I don’t fancy the curry powder flavouring they had. At one point I was wondering, Portuguese style = curry powder…?

Anyway. The bill came to about RM17 for the dinner, which I think it’s very cheap. Although yes I would feel that they were trying to imitate Kim Gary in many ways, but if both the restaurants were to placed side by side, I’d go for this. :D

Good Morning, Rotiboy.

About a month ago I was in Queensbay Mall and DARL was so excitedly recommending me the best Mexican Bun he has ever had. He insisted to bring me to the shop even though I was already full at that time. He said I could try the smell. -.-

Anyway, we went there and there was no more Mexican Bun. Apparently they have been selling it real fast! And that was the first time I noticed this bakery, Rotiboy. I have to admit that recently my craving for pastry is not that strong anymore. I wonder why… :/

As my parents are now on my mother’s long-wanted vacation in Nepal, my brother, sister-in-law, me, and DARL have been taking care of our own meals for over a week – usually my mother takes care of our meals, especially breakfast. :D So for today’s breakfast, DARL brought back some of his highly-rated Mexican Bun from Rotiboy.

Rotiboy1.

They have pretty clear and simple instructions in many different languages at the back of the paper bag.

My Mexican Bun in the oven. As recommended I heat up the oven and put the bun in for approximately 5 minutes.

Five minutes later, I’ve got myself a crunchy and oh-so-yummy Mexican Bun! :D

P/S: For those who didn’t know, Rotiboy is at the lower ground floor, somewhere near Sushi King.

PhotoHunt: Heavy.

Those living in Penang would surely have realised that the traffic in Penang is getting heavier and heavier everyday. It’s getting common that you will stuck in the traffic at any hours of the day, particularly in town area, Greenlane, Jelutong Highway, and Penang Bridge.

I had to skip last week due to my sickness. But I am back this week. :D For this week’s theme, I’ll use two photos from my previous posts for the heavy traffic in Penang.

Traffic JamThis photo was taken sometime in December. I was stuck in the heavy traffic when I was on my way to Queensbay Mall, from Jelutong Highway. A normal smooth trip should take me less than 30 minutes. But this one took me one and a half hour. :/

NYEve1.

This photo was taken on Chinese New Year’s eve, from my previous post. Luckily this time, although the traffic seems to be heavy, it didn’t take too long for us to wait at the ferry terminal. :)

Happy Hunting everyone! :)
