My Great Parents.

Yesterday afternoon, I overheard part of a conversation between my mother and elder brother. I believe it wasn’t a pleasant one. But suddenly, it reminded me of how great my parents are.

It’s not that I never thought so. It’s just that I never really thought about it. Haha.

Both my parents didn’t come from rich family. Both of them happen to be considered the eldest to take care of their family – or my grandparents. They met each other when they were working as government servants. Both of them had their equal funny and naive experiences of getting their dream jobs before settling for that. Those were the days. :)

They were not rich when me and my elder brother were born. They had to utilise whatever they had at that time. My dad built a car for my brother. Yeah a car. A car with my brother’s birth cert number as the car plate number. A car that my brother could sit in it and ride around. :)

We didn’t have many commercial made, pretty toys back then. Mum constantly took us to places like beaches, and botanical gardens. We had our best time getting near to nature, and learning our first lessons in life.

When my dad decided to take several professional examinations and start his career in the private sector, me and my brother were still kids, and we always looked for him to play with us. He had to hide inside the storeroom in my grandma’s place to study. :)

After my younger brother was born, mum was still working and she had to prepare breakfast and lunch for us before she went out for work. When she came back, she prepared dinner. She never settled for outside food. That explained why I only started my outside-food-experience when I was in college. :)

Dad had just ventured into the private sector at that time. He traveled daily to the northern states for his work. Sometimes he stayed over at my uncle’s place. There was a period of time when he only got back once a week. All of us missed him. He then decided to travel as frequent as he could.

Both my parents never ask much from us. They allow us to do whatever we want to do, and never stop us from failing. They tried their best to instill positive behaviours and attitudes towards life in us.

And most importantly, they are always supportive.

They are my great parents.

Period.

For some unknown reasons, I have the habit of placing a ‘period (.)’ after most of the phrases or statements that I have written. I mean, check out the titles for my posts. :D

I never really notice it until yesterday, when I was trying out WordPress. I have been trying to figure out the reasons behind:

  1. I like things to be neat and tidy. Not applicable when I am busy. But I like things to be standard.
  2. I like to have an end on something said or done. If it’s over, it’s over. Start something new – yeah sounds like me. :D
  3. ……

These are the only two reasons that I can think of. I think there should be plenty, but more to my personal weird character or behaviour. :/

Period.

Talking about that, please update your blogroll. It’s now redirecting from www.nottypooch.com/butterflyblogging. It will be www.nottypooch.com/listen soon. :D
