Part of my brother’s business involves receiving goods in these foam boxes. As we all know, these boxes aren’t recyclable. But with a little hole-poking at the bottom of these boxes, they turn into handy pots for some, if not most of the plants.
We’ve been having our Italian Parsley in the foam box for months. It was about to die when it was planted in an old regular plastic pot, until I moved it into this foam box one day and it started growing like nobody’s business. I think it loves the green move too! ;)

So as promised, this will be day one of our daily green steps for year 2010. To start off the year, we did something to the place where the dogs are staying. During this time of the year, the place where the dogs are staying is pretty hot during the day. The sun is covering the place almost directly, and left only a little spot for them to lay around. Xiao Bi is particularly affected due to her nature as a Golden Retriever. This afternoon, we took out some used laminated-paper-type outdoor banners from a friend and tie them up to cover the place. The place immediately turned cool and cozy! Who needs those plastic curtain blind from the store? ;)
