There is always more than one reason for you to love someone. In my case for this round, it’s how Wah knows that me and the sewing machine don’t get along well and went ahead to sew up this mini fold-over clutch for me within a blink of an eye – of course without using the pattern that I searched high and low and printed out, because it’s just easy job for him. I made the fabric flower myself – although seriously, a mess-er like me should NEVER attempt to follow tutorials. I just, never fail to try my own way half way through and ended up having to start all over again.
When I said I was resting most of the time during our break last week, I was partially lying. Well, in a way, yes I was resting more than I usually do, but if you happen to know a hyperactive workaholic like me, you’ll know it’s impossible. Over the one week break, I was constantly looking for new things to do. New DIY ideas. New muffin recipes to test. New homemade kibbles recipe for the dogs. I’ve only got about a week and I’ve got a long to-do list in between my rest time!
And then one day, out of nowhere I found myself having to have a scarf. It’s weird because I don’t normally wear a scarf. But I want one. So I took the opportunity to visit a fabric store when I was having a hair cut last week and bought some of these. After cutting and all, I finally got my hands on creating the patterns on it.

I really like it but I can’t say if I like it so much that I’ll use it yet, because really, I don’t normally use a scarf. I don’t even know if this is how a scarf should be, since I have nothing to compare with. LOL. We’ll see. :)

When we got four palettes (two big and two small) from a friend about two weeks ago, Wah turned two of them into a super useful coffee table for the workstation, and said he will turn another two into a cozy rest area for himself. I didn’t know what was his plan, until a few days ago when he got a custom-made mattress-cushion thingy from a local store.
WHOOOOOAAAAA.
I TOTALLY love this corner! And that piece of mattress-cushion thingy (OK the size is kinda odd so I really don’t know what to call it) is stuffed with cotton and it’s superbly comfortable to sit on, I mean, sleep on. And bonus for that storage area down there too! :D
So another week just flew by. And it’s already approaching the end of the month. And OMG – we’ve just considered ourselves done with the workstation.
The past one month is more than just tiring. It’s TIRING multiplied by like, ten. I always found myself hitting the bed straight after all the work, and totally didn’t feel like waking up in the morning. Fun? Yes, it was fun. But tired.
Anyhow. I’m hoping we can finally put a ‘comma’ in all these – no full-stop yet, I can tell from Wah’s eyes – and start working on the banners and all. In fact, I’ve cut a few banners and hopefully will be able to sew up and list something next week, maybe including the new line that I’ve mentioned in the newsletter, with a little tweak.
After a day and a half of non-stop painting (dude I hate guys when it comes to things like this – they can’t stop working!), including several walls and a door, we’ve finally got the place painted. IN. OUR. FAVOURITE. GREEN. AND. WHITE. Woohoo!
I’m still toying with the idea of either getting some decals for one of the walls or just painting some cool-looking silhouette on it. But that will probably only come in later. Now we’re just waiting for the electricity and then it’s all about drilling and fixing the furniture. And then moving in, of course.
As much as I enjoy the process so far, I have to admit that it’s so tiring that sometimes I can’t feel my hands. LOL. But I’m imagining the moving-in part will be the worst – we’ve got a lot to move and they aren’t light!

P/P/P/S: And yes, that’s my old pink pyjamas hanging on the ladder. :P
