When the Black Dog turns White.

Urm, excuse me, who am I?

Best Buddies.

They eat side by side, play as a team, and sleep close to each other.

On the side note, there was a wound on the right ear of Scooby the dog since the day we started bathing him. I’m not sure where he got it. We initially thought it’d heal on its own but it didn’t. When we were there bathing him 2 weeks ago he was rather disturbed by the wound. So last week, I decided to rinse it with warm sea salt water. Today when we went back for his bathing session, we saw that it’s starting to heal!

Dear Coco, You Are A Big Girl Now.

When we adopted Coco back in June 2009, we wanted to have a companion for Xiao Bi so she wouldn’t be so bored and start messing up the place – yes I’ll admit, that was our primary intention. After having Gobi (Xiao Bi’s sister) and Xiao Bi, I didn’t want to buy another dog and decided that there were so many strays out there waiting to be adopted and I’ll have one of them. The right one. So we met Coco.

She was so small when she first joined us. My family always made fun of her almost-entirely-black appearance – even her tongue has some black spots!

Though she was small, she still wrestled with Xiao Bi. And Xiao Bi being the big sister was surprisingly very gentle with her new mate – in fact she has NEVER been that gentle to me before!

In no time, Coco has grown into a piece of black wind (if there is such a thing) full of energy, running around the house digging and chewing on things like nobody’s business. And that’s when we realised OMG WE’VE GOT OURSELVES ANOTHER XIAO BI!

Anyway, HAPPY 1 YEAR OLD, Coco! I hope now that you’ve finally celebrated your first birthday, you’ll learn not to crawl into the neighbour’s yard, not to play with anything handy or not handy including paints, not to eat everything you see including the toys, not to eat your own poop – and PLEASE STOP POOPING ON YOUR OWN BLANKET!

We love you!

I Wanted to Write Something Nice About the Dogs.

But.

They are always a huge mess.

This is what they do on a daily basis. They wrestle.

And then there are you-bite-my-back-I-bite-yours scenes.

If one of them ever sit down to catch a breath, the other will make sure she does her part of disturbing.

And then you’ll see them jumping on / over / at each other.

And pretending that they can bite.

All It Takes Is A Little Consistency and Humour.

After the unexpected exposures and sudden boom in sales earlier this month, things have kinda fallen back to a manageable level.

I’m kinda exhausted. Now this whole business thing is hitting me. I kinda realise that to successfully run our online business, I have to practically market and promote 24 hours a day – this sounds kinda obvious for any form of business but for some reason, I don’t REALISE it as much as I do now. Well the good – and bad – part about an online business is that your limit is probably the moon.

OK. Time to grow up. Fast.

**********

For the past two weeks I’ve found and read this new blog and am seriously loving it. dooce®. If you didn’t know, the author, Heather B. Armstrong is one of the most popular “mommyblogger” in the world, and was recently named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 30 most influential women in media (quoted from Design Happens). She is (or sounds) real, and absolutely hilarious – and I think she is nowhere near the type of traditional ‘mommyblogger’ that we’ve known. And most of all, together with her family, she has two dogs, with the younger one also named Coco (ooopss, sorry, it has to be COCO!! for her) and happened to be an awful dog.

Perhaps all dogs named Coco are awful?

Yes Coco, you hear me. Knowing that other Coco-s out there are as bad (or worse!) as you are, it makes me feel A LOT better.
