Several weeks ago the great people at Etsy Malaysia Local Team organised a team activity called Secret Santa/Santarina. Each of us who participated will be a Secret Santa/Santarina to another member who also participated. We get to have our wish list and the organiser will hook us up. I received a print from Jia Wen of inkypots and am totally loving it! I’ve asked a friend to get me a frame for this and also another letterpress calendar I got from Etsy. Hopefully they will arrive soon so I can frame them up. These two are so totally gonna be on the wall of our future workshop! :) Although me and my family don’t celebrate Christmas, but we did have an extraordinary Christmas Eve this year. :) To those who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! And to those who are not celebrating, Happy Holidays! With all the season-celebrating mood around, my family wasn’t really excited about the whole thing, mainly because we don’t celebrate Christmas. :) But we did have an extraordinary Christmas Eve this year. Darl called me up and asked me to choose in between having a beef steak or lamb chop for supper at around 7pm+. After all the discussions, I thought, oh well since I’m going to have a heavy supper, probably I should just consume a little bit for dinner. So at about 8pm, me and my younger brother decided to have our so-called Christmas Eve dinner. Just when we were about to start… ‘Puff!’ The next thing we knew, we were in the dark. NO ELECTRICITY! @.@ My parents went to get some torch lights out and distribute to everyone. Well, we thought it’s just going to be for a while, until we went outside and realised that the area affected was quite wide. Dad had to cancel his regular badminton session and started calling up his friends to check out if their places were affected. My aunty a.k.a Mimi called up Tenaga Nasional and was told that she was number 43. Lol. So we chatted in the dark for a while, talking nonsense. And seriously, I was really getting hungry. About an hour later, there was still no electricity. So I decided to just have a torch-light-dinner. :D Luckily the electricity supply resumed at about 9:30pm, and I could have my heavy Christmas Eve supper just on time – although the pre-marinated lamb bought at Jaya Jusco didn’t turn out well. To those who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas! And to those who is not celebrating, Happy Holidays! :) P/S: Btw, the sudden power failure did cause some problem to my iMac. Somehow it’s taking way longer then before to load the OS. Probably it’s the permission problem but hopefully it’s not too much a Christmas surprise… :/ Not long ago when I was writing about the inefficient creature at work, my friend, Charles left a comment regarding me slapping him twice in a day. A few friends were kinda curious after reading it. This was actually what happened on that day. It was some time before Christmas in year 2005. I was requested by the company to get some decor items for Christmas. Not knowing where to go, I dragged along Charles, who was still my colleague back then, to shop with me. We then decided to shop at Prangin Mall. Sometimes they have really cheap stuffs. It took us a few hours shopping there. When we were done and ready to go, he said something stupid in the car and I raised my hand making action as if I wanted to slap him. OK my experiences with this ‘hand-raising’ movement has been positive. People who had seen this movement from me (eg: my ex-house-mates in K.L, my younger brother) would reasonably and definitely ‘move’ away as my palm goes near their faces. But not for Charles. Either he was too tired or he was dreaming, he didn’t avoid and ‘Phiak!’. There goes the first slap. The incident happened in the car park of Prangin Mall. I was laughing and laughing and laughing at the poor fella while he was complaining and complaining and complaining, and at the same time, driving out of the car park. When the car was somewhere in Penang Road, I associated a practical joke that I once liked to play with my cousins. I asked him: ‘Eh, do you know that people said if your palm is bigger than your face, the chances of you getting cancer is higher?’ The poor fella surely wasn’t aware that it was a practical joke. Despite the fact that he was driving, he put his palm on his face, and ‘Phiak!’, I pushed his palm towards his face and slapped him again! :D So there goes the second slap, and I was lucky that I could still stay alive after the incident. :D |
