Wah celebrated his birthday today. One year older, one year wiser – I hope. :P
He isn’t really into birthday celebration so we didn’t make anything big. I baked a batch of his favourite blueberry lemon muffins during the day and got some really nice beef to stir-fry for dinner. Little niece insisted that there should be a ceremony so she could sing the birthday song – in fact, we think she is the happiest when someone’s birthday is approaching. She has been worrying that since Wah is so old there could be too many candles for a cake. LOL.
So we had a little ceremony with the muffin and a candle + cake topper instead. The little event planner was happy. :)
Wah decided to bring me and the dogs to the beach. I think the last time we went to the beach with Xiao Bi was more than a year ago, because I clearly remember that Coco has never been to the beach before. Turned out the weather was superb, the dogs were super happy – especially Xiao Bi, and I’m feeling great after spending some time walking on the sand! Awesome! :)

Darl’s birthday is just exactly one week from now. With my current so-broke condition, I decided to cook something special for him. While it has to be special, but not too difficult – you know my standard. >.<
Up to date I have these in my list:
- Bloomin’ Brilliant Brownies – found out from Sasi, original recipe by Jamie Oliver.
- Pan Fried Lamb Chop – from mh, original recipe by mh’s hubby. :D
- Grilled Salmon – from mh, original recipe by mh’s hubby too. :D
- Mashed potato – also from mh! :D
- And then of course some vege, eg: broccoli, carrot, etc.
I might be changing the grilled salmon to darl’s favourite salmon + mustard. See how la…
So here is my plan. The brownies will come in on Sunday. Pre-celebration ma. Ideally at 12 am so it can be his birthday cake too. :D The rest will come in on Monday evening, just right after he is back from work.
Hmm… probably should add in a light but yummy dessert. Something not too sweet. Hmm…
