Reaching The Readers.

Although I’m not very particular about this, but once in a while I got quite curious on how many readers actually visit this blog. :D My initial intention of having a blog is to keep a record of my personal secrets *ahem* but looking at the fact that I don’t really have a lot of secrets to share, this blog has turned out to be more of a life-sharing one. Oh well. That’s me. :P

Some time back I was playing around with the RSS feed – you know, I’m really not good with all these seed-feed thingy and honestly, I still don’t know how it actually works. :D It’s though, happy to see the subscribers count goes up day by day – or rather month by month. LOL. I’m waiting for the day when I can proudly showcase the count on the sidebar. :P

And then I was trying to know if the readers are actually more into subscribing to RSS or just simply bookmarking the URL. Hence I created a survey but oh well, it didn’t went so well. :D

Today I found out something new to reach the readers. It’s a FREE email marketing tool for bloggers. Yeah FREE. :P While it claims to be an alternative to blog feed subscription, it seems to me to be a potentially useful tool to reach readers in a more pro-active way. You get to design your own email template (which is what I like best!) or choose their existing ones, and then schedule to broadcast to your subscribers in either one-off, or recurring, say, everyday, every week, or every month. And what does it do? To tell the readers that your blog is updated, of course. :D

It also offers real-time reports, which, I’m normally lazy to read through and analyse. LOL. Yeah I’m lazy, I know that. But I try to do it once in a while, like once a fortnight. LOL.

Oh and by the way, it access mobile users by emailing blog content in text format too. Sounds good hor? I think I’m giving it a try. Let me know if it’s good to you as readers or have I SPAM-ed you too much. :P

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the name… it’s Zookoda. Check them out if you are a blogger and wanna reach your readers. ;)

Something To Spice Up My Pathetic Blogging Life.

I was checking out blogs from all over the world during last Saturday’s PhotoHunt and somehow I’ve got myself attracted to a few of them. And I know that I got attracted because of their headers. Yes HEADERs. They either look superbly gorgeous or creatively unique.

And then I looked at my own header. Boring eh… It’s been like this for, erm… months. I only remember myself changing the header once. OK I’m lazy. @.@

And then I thought, can I have a few of them and load different ones for every, say, 30 minutes or an hour?

I started googling around last night and found a few ways of doing it. Most of them need me to add in or modify the code in the header.php. I tried a few but they didn’t work out for me – as usual.

And then I found this Header Image Rotator, which is just a plugin. Install, upload the different images to be used, change the settings (like how long to change a header, etc.), and I’m all set to go! Good for someone like me. Kekekekeke. :D

Now I have 3 different headers to spice up my pathetic blogging life. In the meantime I’ve set them to change within a minute. All headers were done within seconds so I’m expecting myself to do more editing with them when I have the time. And of course, I’m planning to add more….. la la la la la….. I wonder if I can randomly change my favicon too….. la la la la la…..

My Blogging Life.

Yesterday something happened to this blog. I was trying to update the sidebar widgets and no matter how I try, the page won’t load. It kept showing the ‘Connection Timeout’ page. But all other pages have no problem to load at all.

So being an impatient person, I bugged DARL to fix it for me. And somehow during the process, the blog went down for a while. I got so panic, as with my blogging life so far, things have never been on my side, until I finally realised that DARL took out some files to test. Phew.

Then again, the problem never fix. After uploading new files again and again, the same error still happens.

My blogging life so far has been a mess. First with iWeb. With the numerous times of lost comments, I finally decided to move to WordPress. And I thought my life would be easier by now. But see what just happened.

My blogging life sucks. :(
