So Many New Lives!

I spotted this little fella a few days ago, growing at one side of the foam container I used to plant wheatgrass for the dogs. I’m pretty sure it’s a basil – it has that strong refreshing aroma. Must be either from the basil flowers or parts (if this makes sense at all) that I’ve cut and randomly buried in the soil.

I think the plants generally like me better when I don’t intentionally plant them.

The Garden.

Ever since I fell sick, and the weather hasn’t stopped raining, I haven’t really been taking care of the garden. I checked them out a few days back and found that some are growing well, but some, are a little sad.

The Italian Parsley almost died a few weeks back. But look at it now. Growing bigger and stronger. The leaves are so much bigger compared to weeks back!

New leaves are growing out for the Rosemary as well. I still don’t know how to transplant and grow more of them. Anyone?

The basil was huge and full a month ago, but look at it now. Sigh. They kinda died after I transplanted them into the new box. I suspected it’s because of the lack of drainage holes. I’ve poked more holes and hopefully it will grow back. I really love the refreshing basil tea!

About 2 weeks ago Coco dug out my cherry tomato plant. Yeah, dug out. I’ve planted it back immediately and it’s been growing up and down since then. I notice that when it rains, it grows. When the sun comes out, it kinda ‘shrinks’. Probably an indication of ‘more water, please’. :)

I’ve then planted 4 more pots of new plants. The cherry tomato seedling is out. The rest, as usual, nothing happens. Sigh.

Finally, A Little While.

Work is crazy. Life is hectic. I finally asked to reduce my workload and I’m glad that it was a good meeting. :) I still need to hang on until next weekend for a major event, and then I should have less tasks to work on. I like the nature of the job, in a way, but I also love my life and my own business with darl. Something to work harder on.

Despite the hot weather, the garden has been awesome – and since obviously I have nothing to show on my craft, I’m going to talk about my garden again. :P

I’ve spread some wheat berries and grown some wheat grass about 3-4 days ago. This thing is amazingly easy to grow!

Sweet basil. Bought this at Cold Storage again about a week ago. Transplanted to a bigger pot and it’s growing like nobody’s business. Cut off a few leaves and made myself a cup of basil tea this evening. Awesome. :)

The new bamboo shooting. I find this fella growing a little slower compared to the previous one. Perhaps it’s because of the hot weather.

And the lavender is finally blooming! It’s so slow, and so little, but oh-well, I was believing that it’s not going to bloom anyway. :)

Xiao Bi went for her spaying operation last Friday. It was kinda sad to see her during the first day, when she was so sleepy, so tired, and her eyes were like sinking into the sockets. She recovered quite well though, and has been running around like her usual self since 2-3 days ago.

Her tummy area had to be shaved for the operation. I’m constantly checking her stitches, just in case this monkey jump too much or bite on it. Most likely we’ll have to bring her back to the vet to take away the stitches this Saturday.
