Pet Project: huey&wah @ Etsy

Since we came back from K.L, we haven’t really stopped working. We started packing orders on the next day, and worked on some customised orders to be shipped out on the following day. In between, we whipped up a total of 12 batches of marshmallows – vanilla, chocolate, and lemon, to be sent down to K.L on Thursday so Evelin of Angelicquirk could sell for us at Crafty Art Market @ Jaya One today. Unfortunately, marshmallows-making is a tedious process. So when everything is more or less completed today (although we still have plenty of work to settle today and tomorrow, but that’s not too bad now), I totally collapsed.
I woke up early this morning – I tend to do that when I’m totally tired, had breakfast, entertained the dogs a little, and as soon as I wanted to sit in front of the computer to attack some work, I couldn’t get my eyes open and body straight, so I had to go to bed. And then I slept. Woke up for lunch, and then I slept AGAIN! FOR LIKE HOURS!
I can’t remember when was the last time I felt so tired. I’m pretty sure I’m not falling sick so this is really just plain tiredness. I have no choice but to postpone most of the work today and wait until tomorrow.
Until then, I hope everyone has a nice and relaxing weekend. :)
P/S: By the way, our marshmallows were all sold out at Crafty Art Market @ Jaya One today! Thanks so much for your support everyone, and special thanks to Evelin for hosting our marshmallows! We’ve got complaints that those were not enough. LOL! Sorry people! We’re working on getting everything together for huey&wah, and hopefully we’ll be able to launch online order soon – which means you can then have the marshmallows sent directly to your doorstep. We hope this will help? Stay tuned! :)
All safe and sound! :D
Art for Grabs was totally awesome! I can’t believe we’ve met so many interesting people, made so many new friends and met with so many old ones. It was tiring but I totally enjoyed it!
I didn’t bring our camera so here are just a few photos that I Instagram-ed. And by the way, our marshmallows and cookies from huey&wah were a hit! The marshmallows were all sold out on the first day afternoon, and we actually had customers coming back to get more the next day. So sorry guys! We obviously didn’t expect that. Thank you so much for the encouragement and support! If you are interested to order some (or more), write to us at [email protected]. We’re working on getting affordable and reliable shipping, and really, these sweet little piece of heaven is just so appropriate to be party/wedding favours, don’t you think so? ;)

And here’s a place worth mentioning. If you are ever in K.L, at Central Market, there is this Precious Restaurant and Bar on the first floor of the building. They serve really nice Nyonya food that I could still remember vividly how they taste like, until today. We didn’t know where to settle dinner on Sunday night, and Nadiah of nukilan recommended this cozy little place. I honestly don’t remember having any other Nyonya food that’s better than this – not that I’m a hardcore-Nyonya-food-fan or what, but seriously, try them. And the price was also surprisingly reasonable!

When you go in from the main entrance of Central Market, go upstairs and you’ll see the restaurant there. I’m so definitely going to dine there again!
So we’re traveling again! This time we’ll be away from 7-12 Dec 2011. All orders during this time will be shipped once we are back.
And where will we be heading to? K.L, again (we probably should figure some new places to travel to). We’ll be attending a few appointments, and then Art for Grabs – Human Rights Day on 10 and 11 December 2011, at Annexe Gallery, from 12pm – 8pm on both days.
What will we be bringing this round? Not all NottyPooch goodies. But wallets, journals, and storage bins will be there. And the best part is, they are all at about 50% off. This is strictly an Art for Grabs-deal only. Sweet? :)
And something sweeter. We’ll be bringing a few packs of homemade marshmallows from huey&wah along. When we say a few, we mean it. We have vanilla, lemon, and chocolate marshmallows ready to go into someone’s tummy. Only 6 packs/flavour available, and a few packs have been reserved. I know, why so little? Dude, it’s not easy whipping up this thing and working on orders + preparing for markets + travel at the same time. BUT – see, there is a but. We have prepared some taste testers. So come and eat – while keeping others in mind. We are toying around the idea of offering online order and shipping for this little piece of sweetness soon. Come eat and let us know what you think + help us improve.
And then, we’ll also be bringing some homemade butter cookies along. And, also only limited packs available. These are my parents super-famous butter cookies – no joke. :D
On top of that, we’ll also be bringing some items from our secondary line, ecolala. ecolala is a brand we recently started in order to provide working opportunities for members of disadvantaged groups in the community. We have coin purses, pencil cases, and travel pouches. It’s affordable, and it’s our little effort to work more closely with the community.
And if everything goes well, we should have more exciting news to share after we are back. So see you awesome-people soon! :)

Meet Dolly. She is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu. Her previous owner decided to put her up for adoption because they are moving to a hi-rise today. Yes I know, it’s such a short notice. And they couldn’t provide any photos earlier, which makes the adopter-finding process even more difficult. If no one take here in, they intend to send her to a local shelter which practices euthanasia. So after some negotiation with mom, we took her in to foster, hopefully not long-term since we’ll be traveling soon.
She is superbly sweet. Smart, and obedient. Right now she follows Wah everywhere he goes. And she doesn’t make much noises. Having had big crazy demanding dogs for years, I actually forgot that dogs can be quiet and pretty much low maintenance too. :D
She certainly has some skin condition that need to be attended, but once it’s taken care of, I’m pretty sure she’s one gorgeous girl – I mean, check out her eyes. Each of them is as big as her nose!
If you are in Penang and would like to give Dolly a home, please leave a comment. I will get back to you ASAP. Serious adopter only, please.
UPDATE 20:00 – Bonus that we found out during dinner – she makes this ‘crying’ little noise to tell you she needs to go out and pee. :)
UPDATE 16:00, 3 November, 2011 – Thanks to everyone who has helped to spread the word, Dolly has been adopted by a loving family with 4 other doggy-mates to play with! Have a good life, Dolly. You are such a sweet little fella, you totally deserve it! ;)

Remember how and why we make beds for the dogs? It was just slightly more than a month ago. Look what I saw this morning! Look how Coco made a hole on one of the inserts and pulled the stuffing out! Look how she knew she had done something horrible and tried to stay away! Look how I lost control of my voice and went all COCO-OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
