Pet Project: huey&wah @ Etsy

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and OMG I’ve just got the longest break at updating the blog in a long while! Definitely not something to be proud of, but I wasn’t sitting there doing nothing. We’ve got a lot of things brewing for NottyPooch and even more for huey&wah. So much that we barely rest these days.

Anyhow, with Valentine’s approaching, here’s a little something to make your Valentine’s shopping better. We’ll auto upgrade your order to express shipping (meaning you’ll definitely get your gifts on time unless you really procrastinate, ahem) with every purchase of USD$40 and above. Valid until 10 Feb 2012. Go here to start shopping for that special someone now. :)
Oh and if you haven’t yet, this geeky-ly romantic card from huey&wah could also complement your gift. We can combine ship this if you are purchasing together from NottyPooch. Just let us know and the additional shipping charges will be refunded to your PayPal account.
Until then, stay lovely and romantic. :)
Nothing is new, except that we argued and hugged a few times, worked even harder, and came up with more ideas for both NottyPooch and huey&wah. I’ll admit that sometimes – in fact most of the time, I’d like to have another set of hands, or even better, a clone who can read my mind, so she could settle something else while I work on other things over here. And I’m pretty sure Wah wouldn’t mind having a clone for himself too.
With all the work piling up, I have lesser blogging time. On some days, I have to cut back the time I spend with the dogs too, which makes me feel really bad. They don’t complain, but you could see in their eyes how much they love spending time with their humans. If only I know how to get myself away from those pathetic puppy eyes…
Anyhow.
I’ll try to keep everything updated at least once a week. And soon, I hope we’ll be able to get another pair of hands to handle some of the more administrative work before I choke myself to death with all the papers. Fingers and toes all crossed that the choking part will never happen!

We didn’t even celebrate Christmas. Well, not that we normally celebrate but working straight throughout those few days is a totally different story. By the way, it also reminds me that it sure feels like I haven’t celebrated any occasion I care about this year. Anyway.
The exciting part is, huey&wah is up and running! Which means you can now order our marshmallows and other goodies online, and get them shipped to your doorstep! We’ve got a whole lot of ideas to implement + plenty of tweaking here and there which includes working on new photos too, but first thing first. There is a total of 30 31 packs of marshmallows to be shipped out this week. We’ve whipped up more than half and the rest will be done tomorrow. Special thanks to team members of EtsyMalaysia who placed the order. Muaks! :D
Oh and by the way, did you know that dipping vanilla marshmallows in black coffee equals to heaven? :D
All safe and sound! :D
Art for Grabs was totally awesome! I can’t believe we’ve met so many interesting people, made so many new friends and met with so many old ones. It was tiring but I totally enjoyed it!
I didn’t bring our camera so here are just a few photos that I Instagram-ed. And by the way, our marshmallows and cookies from huey&wah were a hit! The marshmallows were all sold out on the first day afternoon, and we actually had customers coming back to get more the next day. So sorry guys! We obviously didn’t expect that. Thank you so much for the encouragement and support! If you are interested to order some (or more), write to us at [email protected]. We’re working on getting affordable and reliable shipping, and really, these sweet little piece of heaven is just so appropriate to be party/wedding favours, don’t you think so? ;)

And here’s a place worth mentioning. If you are ever in K.L, at Central Market, there is this Precious Restaurant and Bar on the first floor of the building. They serve really nice Nyonya food that I could still remember vividly how they taste like, until today. We didn’t know where to settle dinner on Sunday night, and Nadiah of nukilan recommended this cozy little place. I honestly don’t remember having any other Nyonya food that’s better than this – not that I’m a hardcore-Nyonya-food-fan or what, but seriously, try them. And the price was also surprisingly reasonable!

When you go in from the main entrance of Central Market, go upstairs and you’ll see the restaurant there. I’m so definitely going to dine there again!
So we’re traveling again! This time we’ll be away from 7-12 Dec 2011. All orders during this time will be shipped once we are back.
And where will we be heading to? K.L, again (we probably should figure some new places to travel to). We’ll be attending a few appointments, and then Art for Grabs – Human Rights Day on 10 and 11 December 2011, at Annexe Gallery, from 12pm – 8pm on both days.
What will we be bringing this round? Not all NottyPooch goodies. But wallets, journals, and storage bins will be there. And the best part is, they are all at about 50% off. This is strictly an Art for Grabs-deal only. Sweet? :)
And something sweeter. We’ll be bringing a few packs of homemade marshmallows from huey&wah along. When we say a few, we mean it. We have vanilla, lemon, and chocolate marshmallows ready to go into someone’s tummy. Only 6 packs/flavour available, and a few packs have been reserved. I know, why so little? Dude, it’s not easy whipping up this thing and working on orders + preparing for markets + travel at the same time. BUT – see, there is a but. We have prepared some taste testers. So come and eat – while keeping others in mind. We are toying around the idea of offering online order and shipping for this little piece of sweetness soon. Come eat and let us know what you think + help us improve.
And then, we’ll also be bringing some homemade butter cookies along. And, also only limited packs available. These are my parents super-famous butter cookies – no joke. :D
On top of that, we’ll also be bringing some items from our secondary line, ecolala. ecolala is a brand we recently started in order to provide working opportunities for members of disadvantaged groups in the community. We have coin purses, pencil cases, and travel pouches. It’s affordable, and it’s our little effort to work more closely with the community.
And if everything goes well, we should have more exciting news to share after we are back. So see you awesome-people soon! :)
