Misc.

On the Last Day of Year 2011.

Looking back, it sure feels as if we have done so many, and yet so little in 2011. We’ve accomplished some in our list, abandoned some, and accidentally bumped into others. We’ve learned something new, revised something old, worked out others that we’ve not thought about. And one thing for sure, we’ve met a whole lot of awesome people along the way, and that made our 2011 a really fruitful year to remember.

See you again in 2012! :)

The Celebrations.

It seems to be only yesterday when we celebrated the year of the Tiger. Now we are welcoming the Rabbit.

Happy Chinese New Year!

I’m not really a big fan of this festival – nothing to do with the festival, it’s just that it’s always hot, noisy, with lots and lots of fireworks contributing to the already-polluted-and-smoky-air.

I did manage to capture some of these from my window last night. Not really clear shots as I didn’t have anything to support my shaky hands. The dogs were totally not comfortable with the noises.

P/S: This Saturday’s Green Step will be skipped, as apparently, this workaholic thought she wouldn’t rest at all. But in fact, she rested pretty well – with only a little work done in between. :)

I Forgot to Mention.

To celebrate Chinese New Year (although I’m not really a fan of it), and to wait for the new+improved supplies that we’ve ordered while *secretly* develop new ideas, we’ll be taking a break from production from 7 Feb 2010 – 21 Feb 2010. The shop will remain open and we’ll still be able to ship all listed items and reply to messages and emails. We will, however, not be able to work on custom / wholesale orders during this period of time.

I’m also hoping to be able to rest a little, although this doesn’t sound like something that will happen on a workaholic.

Anyhow. Happy Chinese New Year to those celebrating. :)

Something New.

For some unknown reasons, I’ve started to do something that I won’t normally do. To be exact, something that I thought I’ll never do in my whole life. I think this kinda thing does happen from time to time on me. Like I never wanted myself to teach or to be a teacher, but at one point of my life, I was actually enjoying teaching the kids very much. The universe does have its own way of bringing unexpected things into one’s life. :)

This time around, I started planting something in the garden. In short, gardening. Yeap. I’ve killed some cactuses and here I am, planting again. :)

At first I got a pack of carrot seeds when Charles was back about a week ago and started my plan to build a no dig garden. Try googling around and you’ll get the idea. It sounds quite simple and I’d like myself to plant some vegetables in Xiao Bi’s garden territory – and of course I’m going to make her NOT chewing up or digging out my vege. I followed the approach from the Dog Whisperer with her and it seems to be working just fine, and she seems to be totally OK with the yet-to-grow carrot tray. :)

And then I’ve got a huge type of water plant kinda thing from the owner of Xiao Bi’s bf. This one is simpler. Just put the whole thing in a huge pot, add soil and fertiliser and just water it everyday. I like the idea. :)

Here is my carrot tray. It should start seedling (I hope I’m using the correct word, I’m not used to gardening, seriously) in 10-20 days. I hope it does, and I’ll be able to move them to the no dig garden.

So all in all, I’ve started something new for 2009. How about you? :)

Happy New Year! :)
