Wah normally takes care of the syrup boiling part of marshmallow-making, but since he’s away for a week, I decided to do it myself. Turned out a little dense – but not too much to affect the yumminess. I purposely got some gourmet 100% pure cocoa powder for these, and they turned out bitter-sweet. I thought little niece wouldn’t like it, but she said this is her favourite of all marshmallows that we’ve made. :)

We’ve been having some crazy marshmallow-making fest lately. We’ve made the common vanilla marshmallows, and have made lemon too. I love lemon marshmallows better than vanilla ones. But I still have a few flavours to test out.
Can’t wait to have 48 hours a day to spare!

Wah came back yesterday and we’ve already started working by meeting a supplier today – which by the way, was nice and easy to work with. I actually set a target for myself to hit on the number of banner pieces to complete cutting but of course, I rested too well over the holiday and didn’t accomplish it. But that’s OK, I completed more than half, at least. So more to go next week!
And since the first thing Wah requested when he arrived was ‘BAKE ME MUFFINS TOMORROW!’ I whipped up some blueberry lemon muffins for afternoon tea today. He gave these heaven-sent goodness a score of 10/10. :D

I have been baking again lately. Unlike how I used to bake like there was no tomorrow, this time I did everything as casual as I like. One of the reasons I started to bake again is that, we HAVE TO have tea break and supper everyday, and I’m getting bored of the regular food that I’ve been eating. :P
I suddenly had a craving for some nice chewy and crunchy cookies last night, and decided that I’ll make some chocolate chip cookies this afternoon. First attempt, and it turned out pretty good, though slightly too sweet.

Wah was supposed to cut and taste this Cheesecake Brownies I made for him when he came back on Saturday, but didn’t get around doing it because we had to attend a charity dinner that night, and he was too full to eat another piece of anything. The next morning, everyone else has tasted this rich-chocolaty cake except him because he slept until noon. So the birthday boy was the last one to have a piece of his own cake.
Meh! He is not so much into birthday celebration anyway.
