Just when I thought we could get some rest.

Wah went back to Kelantan today. Usually this means I have plenty of spare time in hand and I could attack lots of to-dos. But this time around, both of us will have lots of brainstorming sessions through Skype (thank goodness for technology!) & planning & meeting… did I just mention planning?

Yes, we’re brewing something. How and what will it be? We’re not entirely sure yet. But 2012 has definitely started with a lot of new challenges and ideas. Awesome? Yes, we do think so. :)

Until then, we’ll be away celebrating Chinese New Year from 18-29 January 2012. All orders from our Etsy shop and huey&wah during this period of time will be attended to and shipped once we are back. We’ll still be answering to emails – albeit a little slower, so feel free to shoot us a note or two if needed.

And may you have a healthy and prosperous Year of the Dragon! :)

Accumulated Tiredness.

Since we came back from K.L, we haven’t really stopped working. We started packing orders on the next day, and worked on some customised orders to be shipped out on the following day. In between, we whipped up a total of 12 batches of marshmallows – vanilla, chocolate, and lemon, to be sent down to K.L on Thursday so Evelin of Angelicquirk could sell for us at Crafty Art Market @ Jaya One today. Unfortunately, marshmallows-making is a tedious process. So when everything is more or less completed today (although we still have plenty of work to settle today and tomorrow, but that’s not too bad now), I totally collapsed.

I woke up early this morning – I tend to do that when I’m totally tired, had breakfast, entertained the dogs a little, and as soon as I wanted to sit in front of the computer to attack some work, I couldn’t get my eyes open and body straight, so I had to go to bed. And then I slept. Woke up for lunch, and then I slept AGAIN! FOR LIKE HOURS!

I can’t remember when was the last time I felt so tired. I’m pretty sure I’m not falling sick so this is really just plain tiredness. I have no choice but to postpone most of the work today and wait until tomorrow.

Until then, I hope everyone has a nice and relaxing weekend. :)

P/S: By the way, our marshmallows were all sold out at Crafty Art Market @ Jaya One today! Thanks so much for your support everyone, and special thanks to Evelin for hosting our marshmallows! We’ve got complaints that those were not enough. LOL! Sorry people! We’re working on getting everything together for huey&wah, and hopefully we’ll be able to launch online order soon – which means you can then have the marshmallows sent directly to your doorstep. We hope this will help? Stay tuned! :)

Little Dolly Up for Adoption.

Photos courtesy of my brother with his new fancy Nikon DSLR. :)

Meet Dolly. She is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu. Her previous owner decided to put her up for adoption because they are moving to a hi-rise today. Yes I know, it’s such a short notice. And they couldn’t provide any photos earlier, which makes the adopter-finding process even more difficult. If no one take here in, they intend to send her to a local shelter which practices euthanasia. So after some negotiation with mom, we took her in to foster, hopefully not long-term since we’ll be traveling soon.

She is superbly sweet. Smart, and obedient. Right now she follows Wah everywhere he goes. And she doesn’t make much noises. Having had big crazy demanding dogs for years, I actually forgot that dogs can be quiet and pretty much low maintenance too. :D

She certainly has some skin condition that need to be attended, but once it’s taken care of, I’m pretty sure she’s one gorgeous girl – I mean, check out her eyes. Each of them is as big as her nose!

If you are in Penang and would like to give Dolly a home, please leave a comment. I will get back to you ASAP. Serious adopter only, please.

UPDATE 20:00 – Bonus that we found out during dinner – she makes this ‘crying’ little noise to tell you she needs to go out and pee. :)

UPDATE 16:00, 3 November, 2011 – Thanks to everyone who has helped to spread the word, Dolly has been adopted by a loving family with 4 other doggy-mates to play with! Have a good life, Dolly. You are such a sweet little fella, you totally deserve it! ;)

As Gloomy As It Can Be.

Instagram Photo

It has been extremely hot for the past few days, and then suddenly this evening, it rained.

Have you ever been so stressed you wish you could sleep for a whole 24 hours without having to worry about what will happen next? It’s as if the weather knows how I feel.

Chocolate.

Wah normally takes care of the syrup boiling part of marshmallow-making, but since he’s away for a week, I decided to do it myself. Turned out a little dense – but not too much to affect the yumminess. I purposely got some gourmet 100% pure cocoa powder for these, and they turned out bitter-sweet. I thought little niece wouldn’t like it, but she said this is her favourite of all marshmallows that we’ve made. :)
