Pet Project: huey&wah @ Etsy
|
Thanks to the Front Page feature on Etsy this afternoon, together with tweets from Etsy Malaysia team members nukilan and kindersoaps, we’ve hit the 100th sales on Etsy this afternoon!
Things have been great since the day both of us made this our day job. Though it’s still a distance away until we can pay ourselves decently *ahem*, we are both positive about the future. And the most important part is, we truly enjoy what we are doing. And you know what, I don’t know about Wah, but I’m starting to constantly feel the responsibility to turn more unwanted banners into useful accessories!
So both of us would like to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you who have supported us since we started our journey. I would also like to take another moment to thank all readers of this blog – both the silent ones and the constantly-commenting ones. And certainly not to forget the friends and fans on our Facebook page.
Thank you very much!

Front page on Etsy this afternoon. Thank you MaryMary – I *kinda* believe it’s you! ;)

I finally pulled myself together and made some of these. Honey-lemon icicle-ice cream – or whatever you call it. Chilling in the freezer now. I hope they turn out well – it’s pretty much an idiot-proof treat so I *don’t think* I’ll screw up…
Just like everyone else who participated, at 8:30pm sharp, we turned off most of the lights and fans at home. I think not many people in the neighbourhood participated – which was OK, as I believe this is just formality. The most important part is to treat mother earth nicely on daily basis.
Me and Wah, my parents, and little niece spent some time chit chatting in the living room. My mother told us stories of my grandparents which she had just learned from a relative early this afternoon. Stories of how my grandmother’s marriage was being arranged when she was only 6. Stories of why she could only come all the way from China when she was 27 or 28 to marry my grandfather, when almost all girls in China got married when they were 20 or so.
I certainly couldn’t imagine myself living in that century. Not that I’m a feminist, but marriage arranged at the age of 6?! And foot binding?!
This life isn’t that bad after all. :)

I spotted this little fella a few days ago, growing at one side of the foam container I used to plant wheatgrass for the dogs. I’m pretty sure it’s a basil – it has that strong refreshing aroma. Must be either from the basil flowers or parts (if this makes sense at all) that I’ve cut and randomly buried in the soil.
I think the plants generally like me better when I don’t intentionally plant them.
I’m normally not a huge fan of decal, especially not one that will get this ‘cosmetic’ for my Mac. But as I was browsing through Etsy on this geeky morning, I went all YOU-GOTTA-BE-KIDDING-ME! I’ve only been browsing a few pages and already found tons of really fun and some even hilarious ones!
Now for the classic fairytale, isn’t this Snow White MacBook Decal awesome? By skinat.

Talking about classic, my brothers and I grew up playing the classic version of this game day and night. Baby Mario and Hungry Yoshi Vinyl Decal for MacBook by LapTatt.
