Baking Holiday.

I really love that it’s holiday again today. I’ve always loved year-end. Full of holidays. And yeah I admit it does make me feel lazy. :P

Today I decided to try the bread machine that I dug out 2 days ago. My parents bought it many years back – like at least 7-10 years back – and only used it less than 10 times. Poor thing.

We went out buying some ingredients after lunch, and started working on it almost immediately. Wah helped to set up the bread machine and according to the timer shown, it will take us 3 hours to bake the bread. Uh, yeah, 3 hours. >.<

The bread machine.

So we left it on and went back doing our own work. And then my hands started itchy again and I started googling some recipes for scones. Why scones? Coz I thought Wah loved it. :P

By then, the dough in the bread machine looked like this.

It was fun working on the scones. Instead of blueberry as stated in the recipe, I used chocolate chip instead. Although it didn’t really look like scones but it tasted really nice. :)

Had some for tea break and took a short nap, until dad knocked on the door and said the bread machine broke down. @.@

What to do? Dad decided to take out the dough and knead it manually. And then instead of making a whole loaf of white coarse bread (what I initially planned for), he made buns, with the streusel topping I had left over from the scones. LOL!

About 45 minutes later, we had this.

A little too hard on the outside, but soft on the inside. Would be good to dip in a bowl of mushroom or chicken soup – yeah we are planning for one tomorrow! :)

The First Bread Pudding.

My first bread pudding. Tasted not bad at all – and most importantly, took only about 20 minutes to send this thing to the oven. Easy and yummy! :)

The Garden.

Ever since I fell sick, and the weather hasn’t stopped raining, I haven’t really been taking care of the garden. I checked them out a few days back and found that some are growing well, but some, are a little sad.

The Italian Parsley almost died a few weeks back. But look at it now. Growing bigger and stronger. The leaves are so much bigger compared to weeks back!

New leaves are growing out for the Rosemary as well. I still don’t know how to transplant and grow more of them. Anyone?

The basil was huge and full a month ago, but look at it now. Sigh. They kinda died after I transplanted them into the new box. I suspected it’s because of the lack of drainage holes. I’ve poked more holes and hopefully it will grow back. I really love the refreshing basil tea!

About 2 weeks ago Coco dug out my cherry tomato plant. Yeah, dug out. I’ve planted it back immediately and it’s been growing up and down since then. I notice that when it rains, it grows. When the sun comes out, it kinda ‘shrinks’. Probably an indication of ‘more water, please’. :)

I’ve then planted 4 more pots of new plants. The cherry tomato seedling is out. The rest, as usual, nothing happens. Sigh.
