I’m not sure about others but I’m totally thrilled with Xiao Bi’s improvement on her always overly-excited and rebellious behaviour, after practicing and understanding her through the Dog Whisperer for slightly over 3 months.
Firstly, she doesn’t drag so much on her walks now. She dragged a little at times but will follow as soon as I correct her. And then she now could pass by other houses with dogs with no problem – maybe 10% of excitement but is able to calm down and walk as if nothing happen as soon as I correct her.
I started putting her haversack on her again about a week ago, with water bottles in it, and this has been draining a tremendous amount of her energy on a 20-30 minutes walk. She now comes back with her tongue out everyday. :)
At home, she has been behaving well around my little niece. Passing by without jumping on her. This was not possible a few months back. :) And she doesn’t disturb the plants that I’m working on, which is, good too. :)
I have really been enjoying the time that I’m spending with her lately. Everything seems to be a lot more easier when she respect me more and cut down on her rebellious-ness. I now no longer have to chase her all around the garden just to get her into her garden territory.
My next step? To train her not to run out of the house when the gate is open. :) Oh and I’m also considering signing us up for Obedience and Agility. I saw her jumping over two rows of pots today and I think she is going to enjoy it. :)
