Time For Another DIY. :)

So my life is, as usual, busy, busy, and busy. I don’t know why but seriously I’m really that kind of restless people. Can’t stop for a while – the only time I stop is when I sleep at night. And yet, I never wake up later than 8 am everyday. I wonder if I’ll collapse one day… :/

Anyway, it’s time for another DIY. I’ve posted on My Dog Diary on this haversack/backpack that I’ve just finished doing for my forever-rebellious-GR, Xiao Bi, so she can carry her stuffs on her own during our evening walk and so, and help to drain a bit of her energy. Here is how it looks like.

Smart eh? :D

The Haversack.

One of the tools that was recommended in the Dog Whisperer to drain a dog’s energy and to give him/her a sense of responsibility is a dog backpack, or haversack. I find it a cool idea. Not only the dog get to help to carry something during the walk – in my case, I need Xiao Bi to help carry her waste paper and plastic bag for picking up her poop – the dog gets to drain her energy at a certain level at the same time.

I’m not sure if this thing is popular in Malaysia but I’m expecting myself to fork out a lot of money if I were to get one for Xiao Bi. So instead of buying one, I’ve decided to make one, from the scraps of the used banner.

Many weeks ago I was talking to Bobby’s owner on this idea and he shared with me a catalogue that he got from a pet shop, with a photo of a dog haversack. Ever since then I’ve been trying to gather all the necessary materials to make a simpler version of it. And today, I finally got a little time to sit down and make one. Well, these are not perfect stitches but hey, Xiao Bi doesn’t care. :P

Putting on the backpack/haversack.

Good dog. :)

From the right.

From the left. Doesn’t she look gorgeous? :D

I do plan to put this into production but I guess it will take a while before I can have more time to work on it. But if you are interested to have one customised for your doggie and don’t mind waiting, drop me a note. We can work out the measurement and stuffs. :D
