For darl’s old iPod. Featuring felt lining, clear screen viewer, direct access to the hold button and headphone jack, and since it’s made from those recycled vinyl banner, it’s easy to clean too. lol.

I think when I’m boring or just plain frustrated, I can really do a lot of things just to make myself feel nice and comfy again. lol
So my life is, as usual, busy, busy, and busy. I don’t know why but seriously I’m really that kind of restless people. Can’t stop for a while – the only time I stop is when I sleep at night. And yet, I never wake up later than 8 am everyday. I wonder if I’ll collapse one day… :/
Anyway, it’s time for another DIY. I’ve posted on My Dog Diary on this haversack/backpack that I’ve just finished doing for my forever-rebellious-GR, Xiao Bi, so she can carry her stuffs on her own during our evening walk and so, and help to drain a bit of her energy. Here is how it looks like.

Smart eh? :D
One of the tools that was recommended in the Dog Whisperer to drain a dog’s energy and to give him/her a sense of responsibility is a dog backpack, or haversack. I find it a cool idea. Not only the dog get to help to carry something during the walk – in my case, I need Xiao Bi to help carry her waste paper and plastic bag for picking up her poop – the dog gets to drain her energy at a certain level at the same time.
I’m not sure if this thing is popular in Malaysia but I’m expecting myself to fork out a lot of money if I were to get one for Xiao Bi. So instead of buying one, I’ve decided to make one, from the scraps of the used banner.
Many weeks ago I was talking to Bobby’s owner on this idea and he shared with me a catalogue that he got from a pet shop, with a photo of a dog haversack. Ever since then I’ve been trying to gather all the necessary materials to make a simpler version of it. And today, I finally got a little time to sit down and make one. Well, these are not perfect stitches but hey, Xiao Bi doesn’t care. :P
Putting on the backpack/haversack.

Good dog. :)

From the right.

From the left. Doesn’t she look gorgeous? :D

I do plan to put this into production but I guess it will take a while before I can have more time to work on it. But if you are interested to have one customised for your doggie and don’t mind waiting, drop me a note. We can work out the measurement and stuffs. :D
I’ve been pushing a little bit more on my work in progress and I’m really happy to say that things are working out quite well. Of course I’m hoping for more and more sales but oh well, they will come. :)
Last weekend Xiao Bi got the chance to play and socialise with another two new friends. They are from Bobby’s owner’s sister. They spent about two days living with Bobby and boy I tell you, everyone of them was happy – well, except the youngest and smallest one, Maya. She kept being ‘bullied’! lol.
Too bad darl wasn’t available for the two days so couldn’t help me to take some photos or videos or them. I really enjoyed seeing them playing and fooling around. And almost everytime when everyone was already tired and flat, Xiao Bi was the only one still walking around asking to play. Sigh sigh. The hyperactive dog.
And then yesterday Bobby got a new partner at home. A 3-yr old Golden Retriever name Honey. Honey is not at her tip-top condition. She has scars on her face from scratching and she seems to be a bit too thin and weak for a GR. Will need to be monitored for a few weeks or even month and see how she can improve. But she is beautiful! So hopefully in a few more weeks, three of them can gather and play. :)
Since Xiao Bi is getting a lot more stable, I’m also slowly introducing her to the family – well, more like re-introducing her. I’m slowly letting her staying around with the family, without her jumping up and down and running here and there, with the potential of knocking down the old and the young. It’s been great! :)
P/S: Someone was asking me if I could do her a red+white basic upcycled long purse from banner when I first introduced the long purse in my blog. I can’t remember who but if you are reading this, try looking at the widget on the side, I’ve just added a red+white version of it. And the best part is, it’s a softer type of banner, much like a soft leather, and seriously, I’m loving this one. :)
As my parents’ birthdays are less than a month away from each other, I’ve always practiced to give both of them the same surprise or presents, so no complaints ma. Hehe. So since this year I made my mum the chocolate-rock-muffin, I’ve decided to make my dad some muffins too.
And with that thought in mine, Karen Cheng posted the recipe for Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffins earlier this month. Sounds like an easy one, so I was off hunting for ingredients again. Got everything ready, except for raspberry. I substituted it with strawberry instead – honestly speaking, I have totally no idea what are these berries. They are just, berries, to me. >.<
Preparation was rather easy and fast. Mixed everything. And 30 minutes later, this is what I’ve got.

The first batch. I should have spooned more of the mixture in the cases.

The second batch. Much better. :D
If you ask me, it smelled SOOOOOOO GOOD in the oven! But only one thing. Notice the dark brown thingy on the sides? Those are sugar. I wasn’t aware that I was using those rough type of caster sugar and it didn’t melt enough when I was stirring.
But all in all, these are 95% successful pieces of muffins. Well at least, they are not rock-hard. :D
