Chocolate Rock.

When I successfully baked the legendary brownies, everyone was so impressed and you know, of course I was flattered. Cooking was never what I was good in and when my first attempts turned out successful, I almost believed that I actually carried the talent in me. Ya-da-ya-da-ya-da. Enough said. :P

After having the legendary brownies, my mum wanted chocolate muffins for her birthday – see, they really thought I was talented! So when she was away in Bali last week, I searched for some recipes online and decided to make her some on the morning she was scheduled to come back. Darl said he wanted 24 muffins for himself. How sweet eh. I haven’t even baked the first muffin and he was already so confident in me.

I bought a beautiful muffin tray, and I even had the perfect image of the perfect muffins in the tray on my mind. Until I realised the tray was too big for the oven…

I’ve always thought these things come with standard sizes! @.@ So I had to make it slanted…

As the recipe will actually make 12 muffins, I had to make it twice. When the first batch came out from the oven, I almost cried…

Don’t they look like cookies? @.@ OK la they were so much softer than cookies but definitely far away from being muffins. So darl suggested that we should add more milk to make the batter softer.

And this is the second batch. They did look like muffins but were still too hard to be muffins. Too chocolate-y because the genius here thought she should just finished what was left in the packet. >.< Too little baking powder because as the recipe asked for self-raising flour and she was making her own from plain flour and baking powder, she was afraid that the muffins will bake to sky-high! >.<

And darl said ‘no I don’t want any of your muffins‘. And then my mum squeezed 3 into her tummy and said ‘what are you going to do with the rest?

Genius kononnya… >.<
