Ever since I’ve successfuly baked a brownies with the recipe from Jamie Oliver’s website, I’ve been looking for more recipes that might suit me there. My main concern was certainly the difficulty level. lol. When I came across this roasted chicken breast with cherry tomatoes and asparagus, I said to myself, OK I’ll try this.
I wanted to cook this for darl so he could bring to work but his working hours this week just couldn’t fit into my schedule. And tonight since I was alone at home, I’ve decided to make myself this dish, with a bowl of rice to go with.
I skipped the white wine and instead I added a little bit of rice wine, simply because I didn’t have any white wine in hand. But the rice wine certainly didn’t make any difference to the taste. :D
I would say it’s tasty and yummy. The only thing is that I’m not used to the taste and smell of rosemary. It’s just not a commonly used herb in Chinese cooking. Oh and I skipped the balsamic vinegar too. I’m really from a traditional Chinese family. :D
But for a dish that is simple, easy, and healthy, I think this is one of the good ones.
P/S: I wonder why Jamie’s rosemary can still look so green after the roasting. Mine turned into dark brown. Hmm… :/

You’re sure a good cook! :-P I love watching Jamie’s programmes but I never try his recipes. Rosemary still green, is that b’coz Jamie put that after the chicken roasted?
Dora: Ah I’m certainly far far away from a good cook. I only cook dishes that sounds really ez, like those no deep fried, best if I can put everything in at once type. :P But according to his recipe, he put the rosemary together in the oven wor… :/
hmmmm…. this entry lead me to ratatouille cartoon. I read read read until the line u change to rice wine, i was thinking “Huh? Can change recipe one meh?”. Remember when the rat mix two different kind of ingredient and the smell would be different. I was thinking maybe rosemary will suit well with white wine instead of rice wine?
Jen: Erm issit? I also don’t know wor. Besides I could barely taste or smell the wine from the chicken. Hmm… buying a bottle of white wine just for this is a bit of a waste. My family doesn’t have the habit of drinking wine at all. >.<
>.< <—- omg this is act cute!!
hhhheehhe..jamie’s recipe is western style, thus the rosemary. If you want to use chinese white wine, try steaming the chicken with ginger, maybe a bit of garlic, a few red wolfberries, sapu a little salt, and sliced chinese mushrooms if you feel a little rajin!
Jen: OMG Wen your lou kong siao liao! Faster come back give him med! :P
mh: Eh sounds like the one my mum always do, only that her version is fish! Haha. Hanor I was so concentrate in the ‘easy’ part and forgot about the western and eastern taste difference. :/
Wait…. I think I got the idea how to maintain the rosemary’s greenish color even after you put into oven!!! The secret is… Don’t open the electric of the oven when u roast ur chicken. !!!!! Try it! I guarantee the result :D
OMG Wen I’m very sure your lou kong crazy already! @.@
