Where Good Life Begins.

Sometime last month DARL came back excitedly after meeting a friend, telling me that the sister and brother-in-law of his friend is having a cafe with home-brewed coffee in Penang. I know it’s one of DARL’s dream to have a cafe like this. But instead of having one ourselves, this time around the sister and brother-in-law hooked up with us to print them some t-shirts for their new business. Yay! :D

It was rather a rush work, as all the t-shirts needed to be ordered separately. While waiting for the blank t-shirts to arrive, we spent some time preparing and testing the stencils. We’ve made plenty of mistakes, plenty of carelessness, and learned a good deal of lessons and experiences. It was, after all, all worth it. :)

The cafe’s name is Sitigun. It’s situated at the Nagore’s Place, near the New World Park.

And I so LOVE their slogan/tag line: where good life begins.

After more than one whole week of hard work, we’ve finally got all packed and ready for delivery.

There are now under their soft launching period and will officially open on this Friday, 6 June 08. Me and DARL are both invited to their opening. I’ll blog more about it at Listen so stay tuned! :)

Belated Birthday Present.

After reading the Tree’s latest post, I suddenly remember about a post that I’ve forgotten to write.

It was sometime at the end of last year, when DARL celebrated his birthday. If you don’t know, he is a Converse fan – yeah he somehow likes the school-boy-shoes look. @.@

Anyway. A few months before his birthday he showed me Converse’s U.S website, where they have this service (Converse One) that allows you to customise the colour and design of your shoes on screen and get them sent to you. It’s a pity that they don’t serve international customers, but hey, nothing is impossible. ;)

So for his birthday surprise, I’ve planned to get him a gift certificate from Converse U.S, for him to shop for his dream shoes. And how did I pay for it? Special thanks to YS, my old friend in the U.S. I’ve got her to pay for it first, since they needed a U.S credit card. Converse then emailed us a gift card, and PIN number in another email.

He was very happy when he received his gift card. But he couldn’t decide which design to go. And that whole process took him another… six months, to finally come out with a customised Chuck Taylor. @.@

By the time he was done with his order, YS was already about to come back for a short holiday. So everything well-planned, she took the pair of shoes back and passed them to me about three weeks ago. And ever since then, I’ve been seeing DARL in them everyday. :D

Look at the condition of the shoes after three weeks of non-stop wearing. LOL. Notice the customised wordings at the side that reads: 07 Birthday. We couldn’t think of anything better to write. LOL.

Being a packaging-freak like me, I really like the way they pack the shoes. So simple, so cozy.
