Cooking My Hunger Away.

I’ve been craving for a good steamboat buffet for months. With DARL always being busy and things kept turning up at the last minute, we just couldn’t make ourselves to one. Finally yesterday, he made it a point to leave on time and I went picking him up, and then we both headed to Macalister Road, where the new big steamboat buffet restaurant located, just to realise that THE PLACE WAS CLOSED!!! !@#$%^&*()

DARL was calm enough this time and forced me into the car before I started mumbling about how unfortunate I was. Hehe. He drove me to another steamboat restaurant at Nagore Place, where we were once there a few years back – yeah I was never a steamboat fan but somehow I just wanted a nice one this time. :D

Restaurant Golden Steamboat Buffet (if I didn’t remember the name wrongly. :P)

The place was pretty packed with people when we arrived. The waiter/owner got us a place and we started helping ourselves with food. Yeah food food food!!!

Some Tim Sum to start. Ooo I like the triangle puff-kinda thing. :D

As usual, DARL got us a huge plate of beef. He always couldn’t have enough of beef. I wonder why… :/

Happy Birthday Xiao Bi! :)

Yesterday was a significant day for Xiao Bi. She finally turns one year old! … or maybe I should say it was a significant day for me, as ever since Gobi’s departure I’ve had this phobia of… anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Xiao Bi! :D

So to celebrate with her (although I don’t think she realised that she is now one year old), I’ve made her a small liver brownie – her favourite. :)

She didn’t wanna blow her candle – or she probably didn’t know that she HAD to blow her candle. :D Anyway I helped her blowing off the candle and I’ve made a wish for her to stay happy and healthy forever. :)

And then her favourite moment. Cake eating time! :)

Oi! Why are you there busy-ing with the camera? Come eat my birthday cake lar!

LOL. Happy Birthday again Xiao Bi! :)

PhotoHunt: Candy.

Personally I’m not much a candy person. There are only a few that I’d occasionally eat or chew, like Mentos Chew and Tic Tac. Besides, I normally choose only lime or apple flavoured – all sour. :D

Having said that, I do remember that a few years back when I started working as a part time crew with this company, I met a friend who introduced me to this. I’m not sure if it’s available in other countries but for me, it’s so addicted (sour) that I couldn’t get my hands off it for almost a year!

It came in many other flavours like orange, strawberry and mango but I particularly like this.

The texture is like the Sugus (sorry I couldn’t get an English link), but instead of a square cube of candy, this is a long flat piece.

If you like sour stuffs like me, try the Magic Chew. I could still buy this at local grocery shops and they are selling at RM2 for a packet of about 20 candies – it’s not even USD1! Cheap sour sensation. Hehe…

Happy Hunting everyone! :D

Death Note.

A few months ago my brother kinda ‘forced’ me into watching a movie that he was watching and was impressed – which is what he normally does. He would talk and talk and talk non-stop beside me about something that he was so into, and that time around it was this movie, Death Note. I wasn’t very interested in it but DARL was. So we watched it, and to my surprise, I kinda like the movie. :D

The story of Death Note is based on a supernatural action-mystery manga, about Light Yagami, a brilliant student, who finds the Death Note – a notebook – dropped by the death god, name Ryuk. Very soon Light discovers that writing any human name in the notebook will have the human dies precisely the way he describes in the notebook.

Light vows himself to use the power of the Death Note to make the world a better place. But soon when criminals begin to die mysteriously around the world, the authorities send the legendary detective ‘L’ to investigate. It doesn’t take long for ‘L’ to suspect Light’s involvement in the mysterious series of murder and this forces Light to reevaluate his initial intention, while trying to cover himself up. And the ‘witty war’ begins…

Me and DARL did have some discussions on the movie after watching it. Personally I wouldn’t want the power to decide who would die and how. I just don’t think I have the right to decide on this. At this stage of my life, I think I would love to have unlimited energy and time to do more things that I wanna do. Greedy me. :D

Anyway, I wasn’t aware that this movie wasn’t shown in some countries until today. To those who haven’t watched, I must say that this is really worth watching. And to those from the U.S., here is a chance to watch DeathNote in theater on either 20 or 21 May! All you need to do is to follow the link and enter your zip code to purchase in advance. Go watch. And I’m sure you’ll look forward to watch the following episodes. ;)

Loaded Up!

There is something good in the air. *wink wink*

Thanks to all the support and all the hard work, NottyPooch Design is taking potentially four commissioned T projects this month! Yes, FOUR! :)

While some may not be entirely depending on our creativity (ahem), but we see all these as a chance for us to explore more possibilities and to load ourselves up with some sales. All is still in the middle of discussion but we hope everything will be on track soon! :D

I’ll update this blog as soon as I have spare time. I’ll showcase more products as soon as I can. We have another new home accessories lining up so stay tuned! ;)

*******************************

And for some updates on Xiao Bi. I noticed that she has been having some sort of flaky-sand-coloured thing in her ear canal. It smells a bit. She scratches at times, but not like very often. I wonder if anyone knows what is it (or is it ear mites?) or has any natural remedy for this? Still, I prefer natural ones. :) Leave me a comment here if you know of any.

Many thanks in advance. :)
