While I was checking out the Malaysia Dog and Puppy Portal – which I haven’t been checking for months due to my pathetic hectic working life – I stumbled upon a post on homemade food for dogs. It reminded me that I once wanted to share Xiao Bi’s diet plan with everyone. So I thought I should do it this time.
I once referred to plenty of books and online resources to get the best recipe for Xiao Bi. With months of experiments and observations, here is what I have with Xiao Bi now. It’s a basic recipe that will help to keep her healthy with all the nutrients and vitamins needed. My main reference book is still Dr Pitcairn’s Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats. I really like the book. It’s easy to understand and work around with. These are my modified versions based on the book.
I feed Xiao Bi twice a day, morning and night. Morning at around 8 AM and night at around 8 PM. I notice that if I feed her too early she won’t eat and will forget to eat later. I am not sure why but it’s probably one of her funny habits.
Morning
200g chicken breast meat or beef or mutton or liver, cut into chunks
4 slices bread (wholemeal or white)
1 medium or large egg
1/2 cup of full cream milk
1/4 cup of vegetable (optional)
1/4 tablespoon of garlic
1 tablespoon Healthy Powder (a mixture of nutritious elements like kelp powder, lecithin granule, nutritional yeast and calcium powder. Recipe can be found at Dr Pitcairn’s book)
Mix all ingredients and steam for 10-15 minutes. I normally prepare this at night and feed her in the morning. The Healthy Powder can be added before or after steaming.
Night
250g chicken breast meat or beef or mutton or liver, cut into chunks or pieces
1/2 cup rice or 1 cup rolled oat
1/2 cup of vegetable
1/4 tablespoon of garlic
1 tablespoon Healthy Powder (a mixture of nutritious elements like kelp powder, lecithin granule, nutritional yeast and calcium powder. Recipe can be found at Dr Pitcairn’s book)
Cook the grain first. Add in the meat when it’s half or almost cooked. When the meat is cooked, add in the vege and garlic. Add the Healthy Powder before serving.
Note: Xiao Bi is a 25kg Golden Retriever. You may need to adjust the amount of ingredients to suit your furkids. Dr Pitcairn actually recommended feeding raw meat. However, Xiao Bi is not so into raw meat. Once she just refused to eat. So I have to go back to the cooked version.
Every week, I feed her 4 times of chicken, 2 times of beef, and 1 time of liver for breakfast, and 3 times of chicken, 3 times of beef, and 1 time of liver for dinner. She doesn’t really like mutton recently so I have cut it off, and only feed her like once a fortnight, taking away chicken or beef. Btw, she loves liver – most dogs love liver. But beware. Do not feed more than 10% of the total food consumed per week.
Personally I find her very healthy and active now. The only thing is that I don’t think she is getting enough exercise – well that’s my fault. I haven’t had enough time to play fetch with her. @.@
Hope this helps those who are looking for the perfect recipe in one way or another. :)
OK I am going to sound a bit rude in this post.
Not long ago I was IM-ing with Satkuru and somehow we talked about a type of people that I would really love to slap. Thank you Satkuru for suggesting the best word to describe them – moron.
Of course of course, I hate many types of people. But hey I love many types of people too. :) Of course of course, if one doesn’t affect me and my life, or others, I shouldn’t feel like slapping them. Yes yes although I am rude I do understand that and I respect each individual’s unique characteristic. :)
OK back to the moron. This moron that I was referring to, enjoys holding his MP3 mobile phones in his hand, playing his favourite songs to the maximum volume ever, and walking around public areas like the shopping malls like nobody’s business. Sometimes it feels as if he was trying to beat the central sound system in the shopping mall itself. Worst case, although he looks as if he was doing something natural, he was so unnatural and trying to peek around if anyone notice them with their ‘special handheld device’. And sometimes, he shakes his body too! @.@
I haven’t met a lot of these morons in my daily life – well it’s probably due to the fact that I don’t go out so often. Up to date I have only met twice. Once in the public area of a shopping mall, another time in a bookstore. I still remember when I saw the moron in the bookstore – or rather heard the moron, since the volume of his device was freaking loud – I seriously felt like burying him with all the books on the bookshelves. @.@
In any case, I guess one must be really brave to be a moron like this. Not only embarrassing himself, but affecting others in the public area too. BRAVO!
NottyPooch Design officially kicked start the first ever commissioned-T yesterday, and hell I was excited! :D
This commission actually happened since last month, when I mentioned to Satkuru about this new service/product that we were preparing to roll out. We contacted a few times and finalised the design after about a week, but situations happened, whereby our customised-cutting T-shirts couldn’t deliver on time. Satkuru, being among the first customers, and of course our friend, was too nice to offer to get the blank T-shirts himself. Thank you for the waiting and all the trouble, Satkuru! :)
And finally, his sister bought 2 pieces of blank T-shirts and he passed to me two days ago. I immediately worked on them – don’t ask me why ’2 pieces’, ask him. :D
Here is what we have, as the final print.

I hope whoever you are giving these T-shirts to, are happy with the print. Personally I love the maroon shade of the T-shirt. I hope we can order some of these shades in the very near future (currently we only have white)!
I think my post for this week is going to be kinda lousy – I totally have NO IDEA about what to post for this week’s theme! @.@
I waited and waited, believing that I’ll have something in mind when the time arrives but it didn’t happen. So ended up I asked my friend, Charles a.k.a Mr Pandai, for some suggestions.
He sent me this photo of a home decor that he took during the day at a show house in Singapore Penang. I kinda like it personally. :)

So after chit-chatting with him on more ideas, I finally got up and went to my garden, while waiting for a friend to pick up something. I took a few shots, which, surprisingly, under the poor lighting, still turned out pretty clear. There are a few plants in the garden (I am not sure what are the names) which my dad twisted their branches and tied on a pipe to hold them.

The very straight item on the right side is the pipe my dad fixed into the soil.

OK finally, I hope I didn’t bore anyone with my lousy photos. @.@
Happy Hunting! :)
So as I mentioned, with our latest product line, we are having a new service too. With us, it’s all about unique, it’s all about yelling out your own personality. So what would be better than having your own exclusively commissioned T-shirts?
That’s right. We are accepting commissioned T-shirt design and printing. You can choose to provide us with your own design, or have us to design for you (fee may apply). The most important part is, you are going to have, perhaps, the only T-shirt in the world. You may, of course, also commission a couple T-shirt to celebrate your love with your loved ones. You name the quantity, and we’ll print it – of course, all hand-printed.
To start off, here is a chart for your reference on pricing. Tips: it’s always the more you order, the cheaper the price per piece will go.

So for instance, if the image that you want us to print for you is going to be like our first member of the Pooch Series, the ‘Kiss Me!’ t-shirt, with only red colour, that would be considered as a one-colour printing, and hence the one-time set up cost will be RM 60. And let’s say you would like to order 2 pieces of t-shirts with that printing, hence it will work out into RM 60 + RM 20 + RM 20 = RM100. Meaning, RM 50 per piece in this case (RM100 / 2 pieces). Get what I mean? :)
It’s OK if you can’t grab the idea clearly now. You can always drop us an email and we’ll explain to you and workout something for both parties.
That’s about it in the meantime. Now go think about how you want to customise the design of your exclusive T-shirt! ;)
