I have this habit of reading the newspaper in the morning when I am having my breakfast. I haven’t been reading English newspaper so what I am referring here is the Mandarin version. I normally read the small tabloid first (leisures) and proceed to the national and international news. I haven’t been touching the entertainment section for ages.
Recently, however, I notice that the crime rates in the country must have dropped, and everyone must have been living happily and carefree-ly. Each and everyday you open up the newspaper, almost NO NEWS in the national section except for election news! Aiseh. Should salute to all parties.
Well having said that, not that I don’t think election news is news. Election is definitely among the most important happenings in the country now. But occupying almost 80% of the pages with election news showing the candidates dancing or cooking or shaking hands… ? On the side note, the best part is, when you tune on to TV, you see election advertisements during prime time. And of course along the road, you see the battle of posters and banners. I don’t know about others, but personally advertisements don’t buy me over. Effort, sincerity and certainly efficiency do.
So at the end of the day, I occupy myself with Edison Chen’s scandal. @.@
