Dragon-i.

This evening Yesterday evening I finally got the chance to dine at Dragon-i in Queensbay Mall. Most people who have been there said good things about the place, and the food, except for one of my colleagues, who happened to be a finicky eater. I was kinda curious, and decided to try out with DARL today since I had to be there for the new shop thingy (again).

The place looks organised and professional in the way they serve customers. There is always a staff at the entrance to seat you. We were there quite early so the place was still quite empty. Once I was seated, I saw a small plate of steamed peanuts on the table. I knew we had to pay for that tidbits already.

After looking at the menu, I have decided to go for the Rami (Ramen) in Hot and Sour Soup (I wanted something that can make me feel like eating more), while DARL got himself Rami with Pork. He also ordered a set of Shanghai Small Dumplings – I am not sure if I am getting the names right here. But it’s nearest to what I can think of now. :)

The waitress was friendly and serving of the food was fast. My share arrived within minutes. The dumplings were good. I remember trying these dumplings in Hong Kong and the U.S, and I think they were equally delicious, so no complaint. My Rami (Ramen) in Hot and Sour Soup, however, was only hot, not even close to sour. DARL said I probably have to add the vinegar myself. If this is so, why don’t they give me plain soup and I’ll add the chili oil and vinegar to make it hot and sour?! Rating: 3/10

The Shanghai Small Dumplings. The juice inside tasted very good, with a touch of wine.

My Ramen. Not even close to sour.

DARL’s arrived in a short while. Nothing much to talk about his Rami. Rating: 5/10.

I started to notice that they prepared this wet tissue thingy on all tables. I was wondering how much they were going to charge us for this piece of sh*t that we didn’t ask for – I always thought only old-fashioned restaurant did that. I couldn’t help but to think that this is an over-charged-modern-looking-old-fashion restaurant. :/

When the bill came, the little bowl of peanut tidbits cost us RM2, and the wet tissue at RM1 for each of us.

My overall rating for this place was 4/10. The food is so over-charged and we were ‘forced’ to pay for something that we didn’t ask for. I feel as if I was contributing them to build a nice looking restaurant. But the staffs were friendly. So overall rating goes up to 5/10.

P/S: I’ll post some photos up later tonight. All in DARL’s mobile phone. :)
